DrumSkull Drums is a custom percussion shop just outside of Santa Cruz, California (USA). Our inspiration is a culmination of nearly twenty years of West African and Congolese drum and dance education in Santa Cruz County and the entire Bay Area. As students of this music, we feel extremely fortunate to have the respect and support of so many influential teachers throughout the United States and in Africa. Our mission is to uphold the integrity of the peoples of West Africa and their music by building traditional instruments of uncompromised quality. We strongly believe that in order to build a quality instrument, you must first start with the proper materials. Throughout our years, we have spent countless hours designing and seeking out the highest quality rope, skins, and shells available. We are happy to share with you the results of this search.
